Aquascaping Applications
Utricularia graminifolia is best used as a foreground carpeting plant in Nature Aquarium, Iwagumi, and Wabi-Kusa-style layouts. Its fine, grass-like texture and gentle undulating growth create a seamless, meadow-like ground cover that adds extraordinary depth and a sense of scale to any composition. Plant individual portions slightly apart and allow stolons to fill in naturally — the result is a lush, flowing carpet that frames hardscape and draws the eye through the layout.
Pro Tip:
UG performs best with CO₂ injection, high light, and a nutrient-rich fine substrate. Soft, slightly acidic water (pH 5.5–6.5) will encourage the fastest and densest spread. Placing root fertiliser tabs beneath the planting zone during setup will significantly accelerate establishment and lateral growth.
Note:
As a living plant, Utricularia graminifolia requires separate handling and shipping considerations. Please review our shipping policy for plant-specific delivery information.
