This exotic wood creates dramatic underwater landscapes with minimal tannin leaching, making it ideal for aquascapers who want natural character without significant water discoloration.
The dense, twisted root formations provide excellent structure for building complex aquascapes, creating natural hiding spots for fish and shrimp, and offering perfect attachment points for epiphyte plants like Anubias, Bucephalandra, and mosses.

Care Information
Preparation: Rinse thoroughly under running water before use. Dark Iron Wood typically sinks within 24–48 hours with minimal soaking. For faster results, you can boil larger pieces for 30–60 minutes.
Water Parameters: Dark Iron Wood releases very minimal tannins compared to other driftwoods, resulting in little to no water discoloration. This makes it ideal for crystal-clear aquascapes or when you prefer minimal water chemistry changes.
Maintenance: Wipe down occasionally during water changes. Some biofilm may develop initially—this is normal, beneficial for your ecosystem, and will be consumed by shrimp and algae-eating fish.
