About this fish

The Muzel Red Cherry Tetra is a rich, warm-toned schooling tetra that brings a deep red glow to planted aquariums. A calmer, more substantial fish than the common nano tetras, it holds colour beautifully against dark hardscape and green foliage.

Why you will love it

  • Deep cherry red colouration that intensifies in mature, well-planted tanks
  • Peaceful mid-water schooling behaviour
  • Excellent contrast against driftwood, dark substrate and lush plant growth
  • Hardy once settled and easy to feed

Care at a glance

  • Minimum school: 6 or more, ideally 10 plus
  • Temperature: 24 to 28 C
  • pH: 6.0 to 7.5
  • Minimum tank: 60L
  • Diet: quality micro pellets, flake and frozen foods
  • Temperament: peaceful community fish

Tank mates

Pairs well with other tetras, rasboras, corydoras, otocinclus, peaceful dwarf cichlids and shrimp in mature planted tanks.
