About this fish

Santa Klaus Swordtail is a striking and lively fish, chosen for its bold red and white colouration, active swimming, and easy-going nature — a standout addition to any community aquarium.

Why you will love it

  • Eye-catching festive colouration — red, white, and black markings
  • Approx size in store: 4–5 cm
  • Active swimmer that adds movement and colour to mid-water
  • Hardy and beginner-friendly
  • Peaceful community fish — great with tetras, rasboras, and corydoras

Care requirements

  • Care level: Easy
  • Adult size: 10 cm
  • Temperature: 22 to 28°C
  • pH: 7.0 to 8.0
  • Swimming level: Middle to top
  • Minimum group size: 3+

Feeding: Offer a varied diet. A quality staple (flake or micro-pellet) plus frozen foods (brine shrimp, daphnia, bloodworm) several times per week keeps colour and condition strong. They will also graze on algae and accept blanched vegetables.

Compatibility: Best with peaceful, similarly sized community fish. Avoid housing with aggressive or fin-nipping species. Males can be territorial with each other — keep one male to several females for best results.

  • Note: Livebearers — will breed readily in a well-planted tank

School of Scape quality: We select healthy fish and recommend gradual acclimation and stable parameters for best results. Swordtails thrive in planted aquariums with open swimming space and gentle filtration.
