Pairs well with this fish

Picked by our team to go with this.

About this fish

Praecox Rainbowfish is a stunning pick for planted aquariums, chosen for their vivid neon-blue body, active schooling behaviour, and peaceful personality.

Why you will love it

Brilliant electric-blue colouration with orange-red fins on males
Approx size in store: 3 - 5cm
Active mid-water schooler that brings life and movement to any aquascape
Community (peaceful; ideal with other small, calm species)

Care requirements

Care level: Easy
Adult size: 6 cm
Temperature: 22 to 28°C
pH: 6.5 to 7.5
Swimming level: Middle to top
Minimum group size: 6+
Substrate: Any; fine gravel or sand suits their natural habitat

Feeding: Offer a varied diet. A quality staple (flake or micro-pellet) plus frozen foods (brine shrimp, daphnia, bloodworm) several times per week keeps colour and condition strong.

Compatibility: Best with peaceful, similarly sized tankmates. Avoid fin-nippers and aggressive species. Excellent companions for tetras, rasboras, corydoras, and small plecos.

School of Scape quality: We select healthy fish and recommend gradual acclimation and stable parameters for best results.

Excellent service

Had a small concern about timing and the team responded quickly and sorted it out. Fish arrived perfect.

Stunning fish

Wow. Just wow. These settled into my planted tank straight away and are constantly out and about. Packaging was spot on too.

Perfect addition

Added these to my community tank and they fit right in. No aggression, great colour, and the delivery was quick despite living regionally.
