Description
Azalea wood (also known as Dragon Wood) is a premium natural hardscape material prized for its dramatic twisted vines and deeply textured bark. Each piece is uniquely shaped by nature, creating wild, organic aquascapes that bring authentic character to your underwater landscape.
The intricate branching structure and natural pockets make Azalea wood ideal for epiphyte plants like Anubias, Bucephalandra, and Java Fern—many can be wedged directly into crevices without glue. Its rich texture and sculptural form work beautifully in both planted and hardscape-focused designs.

Care Information
Preparation: Soak in hot water for 24–48 hours before use to remove excess tannins and help the wood sink. Boiling is recommended for faster preparation and to reduce tannin release.
Water Parameters: Azalea wood will soften water slightly and release tannins, creating a natural amber tint. This is ideal for blackwater biotopes and species that prefer acidic conditions. Use activated carbon if you prefer crystal-clear water.
Maintenance: Rinse occasionally during water changes. Some biofilm may develop initially—this is normal and beneficial for shrimp and algae-eating fish.
