Care Information

Preparation: Rinse thoroughly under running water before use. Manzanita is dense and typically sinks within 24–48 hours with minimal soaking. For best results, soak in warm water for 2–3 days to ensure it's fully waterlogged and to remove any residual tannins.

Water Parameters: Manzanita releases very minimal tannins compared to other driftwoods, resulting in little to no water discoloration. This makes it ideal for crystal-clear aquascapes where you want dramatic structure without affecting water chemistry.

Maintenance: Wipe down branches occasionally during water changes. The smooth bark makes maintenance easy. Some biofilm may develop initially—this is normal, beneficial for your ecosystem, and will be consumed by shrimp and algae-eating fish.
