Bumble Bee Goby is a small and eye-catching fish known for its bold black and yellow banding, giving it a distinctive bumble bee-like appearance. Its unique colour pattern and curious personality make it a popular choice for aquarists looking for something a little different.
This species is best suited to experienced aquarists or those prepared to provide the right conditions, as Bumble Bee Gobies often prefer slightly brackish water, although some may adapt to freshwater depending on their origin. They do best in a well-structured aquarium with plenty of hiding spots, plants, rocks, driftwood, and calm tank mates.
Bumble Bee Gobies are generally peaceful but can be territorial with their own kind, so providing multiple hiding areas is important. They are often best kept in small groups in a species-focused setup or with carefully chosen peaceful tank mates. They may be fussy eaters and often prefer frozen or live foods.
