About this fish

Blue Scar Paradise fish is a great pick for planted aquariums, chosen for colour, movement, and personality.

Why you will love it

  • Species-only or carefully planned tanks
  • Approx size in store: 5 cm
  • Works best as a feature fish with calm tankmates
  • Non-community - aggressive and territorial
  • With lots of plant cover, they can be kept in groups and will thrive and breed

Care requirements

  • Care level: Moderate
  • Adult size: 10 cm
  • Temperature: 16 to 26°C
  • pH: 6.5 to 8.0
  • Swimming level: Middle to top
  • Minimum group size: 1

Feeding: Offer a varied diet. A quality staple (flake or micro-pellet) plus frozen foods (brine shrimp, daphnia, bloodworm) several times per week keeps colour and condition strong. For algae grazers, include wafers and blanched veg.

Compatibility: Best with peaceful, similarly sized tankmates. Avoid fin-nippers with long-finned species and avoid aggressive fish with shy species.

  • Note: Not suitable with gourami, bettas, or small fish

School of Scape quality: We select healthy fish and recommend acclimation and stable parameters for best results. Our experience in our plant farm tanks shows these fish thrive and breed when provided with plenty of plant cover.
