About this fish

Crown Tail Betta is instantly recognisable for its dramatic spiked finnage, where the webbing recedes between the rays to create a crown like silhouette. Sold as assorted, so colour and pattern vary between individuals.

Care at a glance

Keep singly, males must not be housed together
Temperature: 24 to 28 C
pH: 6.0 to 7.5
Minimum tank: 20L, heated and gently filtered
Diet: betta pellets, frozen bloodworm and brine shrimp
Temperament: territorial toward other bettas and long finned fish

Tank mates

Best alone or with calm bottom dwellers such as corydoras and otocinclus. Avoid fin nippers and other long finned species. Prefers gentle flow with surface cover from floating plants.

Live arrival

Assorted means colour and pattern are selected at random and will vary from any example shown. All livestock is quarantined and conditioned in store before sale. Local Perth pickup available, with live delivery to selected WA areas.

How your fish arrive

Packed in oxygen filled bags inside an insulated box and sent overnight by air express on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Live arrival

8 hour live arrival guarantee. If a fish arrives dead or clearly stressed from transit, contact us within 8 hours of delivery with photos of the fish in the original sealed bag, and we will replace or refund it. Freight is not refundable, and someone needs to be home to accept the delivery. Remote far north WA (Gascoyne, Pilbara and Kimberley) is sent at your own risk.
